The Baked Bean Theatre Company
We are a collective of actors with learning disabilities.
We devise & produce our own plays & films.
We meet to rehearse & write twice a week and generally produce one film & one or two major plays a year as well as some smaller projects.
We perform in theatres in and around London, usually to sell out audiences & our films have been shown in cinemas.
We challenge peoples preconceptions about what people with learning disabilities are capable of. We do this by producing theatre of a high standard that entertains, educates and delights.

The regular workshops and rehearsals give us a safe & supported environment to explore and share our ideas. We learn a new level of commitment to ourselves and each other & enjoy greatly improved confidence & self esteem.
Our performances and films give us an opportunity to become integrated within the community. We get to work with directors, technicians, theatre staff and other actors who don't have learning disabilities. This helps the world at large become more aware and accepting of people who do have learning disabilities.
